Networking for Horizon Europe: Climate, Energy and Mobility
On 11 February 2026, we organized a networking event at Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana Mons dedicated to the Horizon Europe calls under the “Climate, Energy and Mobility” cluster. The event brought together numerous researchers and professional staff from Slovenian research organizations, as well as representatives of companies, local communities, and other organizations active or interested in this thematic area.
The main objective of the event was to foster networking among participants and strengthen opportunities for joint cooperation in preparing project proposals for calls in the fields of climate, energy, and mobility.
In the introductory session, the National Contact Points (NCPs) presented the new work programmes for Cluster 5 and the EU Missions. At the beginning of the event, a representative of the European Commission, Mr. Thomas Schubert, joined us remotely. He outlined the European Commission’s strategic perspective on developments in the areas of climate, energy, and mobility and highlighted the performance of Slovenian applicants within the European context.

Cluster 5 – Climate, Energy and Mobility is one of the most ambitious parts of the Horizon Europe programme. It brings together cutting-edge technologies and bold ideas to address today’s urgent challenges: climate change, the transition to clean energy, and sustainable mobility. It contributes to the “Green Transition,” the “Digital Transition,” and to a “More resilient, competitive, inclusive, and democratic Europe.” The main purpose of Cluster 5 is to strengthen the European Research Area on climate change by fostering scientific excellence and capacity, to cover fields aimed at sustainable, secure, and competitive energy supply, and to reduce the climate and environmental footprint. It also addresses services for safe and advanced mobility for passengers and goods.
